The new Van Zant cd Get Right With the Man was released today, got me a copy and it kicks butt bigtime like the Van Zants know how to do. Johnny calls it country with an attitude and he ain't kiddin', I really enjoy it, sure you will too

Thanks, if I can't find 'em cheap on ebay I may take you up on that offer!! Boy I went by wally world and searched and searched and searched and didn't find a copy, then looked at the skynyrd stuff and decided to look 1 more time by the van halen stuff just fer the heck of it and man somehow just outta the nowhere appeared 1 copy of the cd, it was the only copy in the store. Man that song "Things I Miss The Most" is good enough to hit #1 on the country charts I guarntee it!!!!!

The slowed down version of Sweet Mama is good too, the whole cd rocks, does resemble a lot of the early Skynyrd songs

Not really anyone's territory, the 3 grew up listening to country. ronnie was just the first to give it that southern sound. I love Van Zan'ts sound, cause it differs from skynyrd and 38 but still has that Van Zant quality to it, a style all their own.

Good luck trying to find them, e-bay may be yer best bet, they do pop up from time to time, but may have to order them. Order JVZ Band Collection while you're at it, lots of great songs from Johnny's earlier days

It is the first one, I remember the interview when they discussed doing it, and how they wanted to before but never got a chance to. You're talking about Van Zant, that was a Johnny Van Zant project in the early 80's. It shows up on their website too, but that's not the brothers, only Johnny and his band.

You're right I didn't catch the bottom of it that say Johnny project but it does mention Donnie though! Do U have the Van Zant II Cd? Is it as good as Brother to Brother? Take Care & God Bless TMan

I've got all 3, Brother to Brother is my favorite cause it was their first, and you can feel the closeness in the songs. Van Zant II is good too, a good rockin cd, I enjoy it, and of course Get Right With the Man takes the brothers in a whole new direction, that one is real good too. If you can get it, do it, you'll like it. What I enjoy best about their music is it don't sound like Skynyrd or 38 Special, it's their own sound. "It's not skynyrd or 38, it's Van Zant!!"
